Boxing
Boxing, often referred to as “The Sweet Science”, is a combat sport, where competitors fight using punches.
Boxing, in some form, has been around for millennia; there is even a Mesopotamian tablet depicting boxing which dates back some 7,000 years.
Boxing, as it known today, can be traced back to 1867 and the publication of the Marquess of Queensbury rules.
The focus on and high level of punching, foot work and head movement, means that Boxing is often cross trained with other arts, such as Jun Fan Gung Fu (JKD), Kickboxing, Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), and Muay Thai (Thaiboxing) to produce better, more rounded martial artists.
Training for Boxing includes a mixture of offensive and defensive punching and footwork, through bag work, pad work, partner drills, shadow boxing and sparring.
