Hot on the heels of my trip to Iceland, was another opportunity to train with a Gracie Jiu Jitsu legend, Mestre Royce Gracie, when he was hosted by RGBJJ Black Belt Jon Hegan, at his academy in Upminster.

Whilst some people see these seminars as just an opportunity to claim they have trained with, or indeed got a photo with a ‘UFC legend’, I took so much away from it; new techniques I had not seen before, as well as a load of little details that made some material I had seen before subtly more effective.

A massive thank you to Mestre Royce Gracie for travelling all the way to the UK to impart a piece of his knowledge, and to Jon Hegan for making the event happen.
