Kali / Silat Seminar – September 2011

The Yoga and Shiatsu Seminar at Laurence Sandum‘s Black Belt Martial Arts Academy in Chelmsford, planned for Friday 2nd September had to be postponed due to a mechanical failure of Michael Powell’s car.

At late notice, Guro Laurence hosted a free Kali and Silat seminar for those who had already made their journey to the academy.

The session kicked off with some advanced double stick disarms and disarms, not contained within the class syllabus.

The emphasis then shifted to Silat, where particpants worked combinations, moving from punching range through standing grappling and throws, before finishing with a ground control position.

A big thank you to Guro Laurence for giving such an informative seminar; I for one took a lot away from it.
