Laurence Sandum’s Black Belt Martial Arts Academy in Chelmsford held host again to Guro Ralph Jones, for a seminar in Kali (Filipino Martial Arts) in September 2012.

Guro Ralph came to the academy on the afternoon of Saturday 6th September 2012 and gave an information packed session focusing on the third area of Inosanto-Lacoste Kali, Stick and Knife.

After a warm up with some basic four, five and six-count patterns, Guro Ralph worked seminar attendees through a series using an inside sweep against an angle #1 strike with the stick, and seventeen variations of how to deal with the knife hand.

Having trained under Guro Dan Inosanto since the 1970’s, Guro Ralph has a great wealth of knowledge in Inosanto-Lacoste Kali, and I feel proviledged to have the ability to train under him so regularly. The ability to do this is down to Guro Laurence Sandum; thanks again to him for bringing the very best in their fields to Chelmsford.
