The first weekend in April saw me training once again with Gracie Jiu Jitsu Black Belt Dave Birkett at Laurence Sandum‘s Black Belt Martial Arts Academy in Chelmsford.

Throughout the three hour session, Dave worked through some scenarios, starting from the beginning of an altercation all the way through to a controlled nullifying of any threat.

Joining regular seminar attendees were members of Westcoast BJJ in Wales, as well as some students from Dave’s own club, Dartford BJJ in Kent. It was great to meet all these guys and I will hopefully get the chance to train with them all again soon.

Thanks to Dave, for giving such an excellent session. And to his student Danny Suman, for giving me some particular help with escaping the knee on belly position.
