David Onuma BJJ Seminar – February 2012
On February 11th 2012, I braved the almost -10oC temperature to attend an early morning Brazilian Jiu Jitsu seminar at Laurence Sandum‘s Black Belt Martial Arts Academy in Chelmsford Essex, taught by Guro David Onuma.
The session started with an excellent sport specific warm up, before covering a series of movement drills designed to programme core BJJ movements into the body. The session rounded off with methods of passing the guard, working with a compliant and then a non-compliant partner.
As ever with the BJJ sessions at the academy, I came away with new a lot of information and new tools to be worked until they become instinctive responses.
Special thanks to Guro David for getting up so early to travel to the academy to share his wealth of information with us. And thank you to Guro Laurence Sandum for making the session possible.
